Where is Föhr, and how do I get there?

Föhr is one of the North Frisian Islands on the German coast of the North Sea and is located to the southeast of the island Sylt, in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is the second-largest island in the German North Sea.

To reach the island by car from Germany’s mainland, travel north toward Denmark until arriving in Niebüll and continue on toward Dagebüll Mole. From Dagebüll Mole, the ferries of the W.D.R. will take you to Föhr. In case you want to take your car to the island, I recommend to book passages in advance. Otherwise, you can leave your car at a car park in Dagebüll Mole. Travelling to Dagebüll by train is very easy and comfortable too. Whether travelling by car, train, bicycle or airplane, have a nice trip, and welcome to Wyk on the island of Föhr!

From there it is only another seven kilometres to Nieblum.
